A birthday to remember!

We’ve never been so excited to announce the winner of a competition here at Elite Bridal… but we never expected that when we contacted our randomly selected bride-to-be, her first words would be, “It’s my birthday today!” Huge, huge congratulations to Liz Fletcher, who’s won the chance to design her dream wedding dress to wear as she marries the love of her life, Rob, in September 2020. Not only will Liz be working closely with our design team to make her dream dress a reality, she’ll also get to take the finished garment home for free! “My family and I are so excited,” Liz says.  “We can’t quite believe it! “Being offered the chance to design my own dress is the most amazing thing to happen since I got engaged to Rob.  I screamed when I got the message and dropped my phone!” Here at Elite Bridal we’ve been thrilled to advertise this incredible competition over the last month – we know this opportunity is every bride’s dream, and we couldn’t wait to make one bride-to-be’s dream come true.  Giving Liz a fantastic birthday present was a better announcement than we could have wished for! “I’ve been dreaming about Elite Bridal’s dresses since I got engaged in March – just the other day I sent a picture of one to my mum!” says Liz.  “But designing my own is just incredible, and is going to make everything so special.” Our entire team are incredibly excited to work with Liz, hear all about her ideas for the perfect gown, and make them a reality.  But obviously we can’t reveal those before the big day in 2020, so watch this space! We’re opening a new boutique!

Huge news – we’re opening a brand new bridal boutique in Brighouse, Yorkshire! Our Huddersfield boutique is moving just down the road to a gorgeous new location, and we can’t wait to unveil the new store – along with not one but two now collections – to our beautiful brides. To mark the opening of our Brighouse bridal boutique, we’re celebrating with a huge grand opening on Saturday 21st September – and you’re invited! You’ll have a free glass of bubbly, a chance to check out our beautiful new bridal collections, meet our amazing Yorkshire-based design team, and get helpful details of other local wedding suppliers…  You might even find your dream dress! As always, we’d love any brides from Brighouse and beyond to drop by and take a look.  We do recommend booking a bridal appointment if you definitely want to try on some gowns – we’ll be very busy and would hate you to miss out – but if you don’t have an appointment don’t worry, we’d still love you to pop in and take a look. Say hello to our amazing new seamstress!

We’re welcoming Alyona, our amazing new seamstress, to the Elite Bridal team! Alyona has worked professionally as a seamstress for nearly a decade, but knew she wanted to work in fashion from very early on in life. “From a very young age, I was making garments,” Alyona says.  “Just little things – I made them for the joy of making them, whenever I felt inspired.  Then sometimes I sold them!” Alyona went on to study fashion design, and began her career with an overseas internship in Sweden.  She then followed her passion to London, where she worked as a couture seamstress for fashion house Ralph & Russo.  She spent her days building designer haute couture gowns – including bridalwear. Even though Alyona has spent her career stitching and sewing, she rarely sets down the needle once she gets home. “In my free time, I still design formalwear that isn’t bridal.  Whenever anything inspires me I find myself designing and making new garments, and whether I’m in the design studio, freelancing or just making something for myself, it never really feels like work.  This is how I express myself.  I love it so much I never really stop. “The highlight of my career so far has probably been designing and making my own wedding dress,” Alyona continues.  “I was inspired by another gown I’d seen, but knew I wanted something different, and I was able to make it for myself.” When Alyona moved to Yorkshire, she knew she wanted to work specifically in bridalwear, and loved Elite Bridal’s designs. “I’m excited about working with such beautiful dresses,” she says, “and being able to do what I love here.” If you see Alyona in any of our boutiques, don’t hesitate to say hello.  She may well be working on your gown – and it’s in very good hands! Our new boutique is officially open!

Today was the official grand opening of our brand new boutique in Brighouse… and what a day! Thank you so much to all our beautiful Brighouse brides who became the very first customers in our new boutique. We had some truly gorgeous brides looking incredible in such a varied range of styles – the perfect way to start, as it’s definitely how we mean to go on! We also loved that our new collections got so much love from Brighouse brides, and several of our brand new styles have found new homes. With back-to-back appointments all day we’d like to thank you all so much for your patience, especially in this glorious heat.  We hope everyone enjoyed the free bubbly and cakes (by Melissa Cakes, based just down the road) and we hope you’re enjoying exploring the bits and bobs in your bridal goody bags. Today we’ve shared details and goodies from Lottie’s Beauty Room and Hair by Kate Hamilton, who’ll make you look truly incredible on your big day and really complete the look.  We’ve also shared details of Cardelium, who provided the gorgeous balloon displays decorating our boutique today.
