Happy Halloween!

With creepy chic all around and celebs getting married in haunted mansions, we’re loving the number of brides coming to us with spooktacular wedding plans!

We’ve had brides asking us for colloured wedding dresses and bespoke veils.

We’ve heard some incredible ideas for tasteful Halloween themes, or just ways to bring an autumnal look into our brides’ big days.

And we were really excited to hear that one of our favourite celebs, Jennifer Lawrence, got married in a haunted mansion on Rhode Island last week!

In typical JLaw fashion, the wedding itself was kept very private and almost entirely out of the press.  We’ve had almost no photos of her Dior gown… which apparently had its own hotel room the night before the wedding!

But from what little we can see it was a gorgeous sparkly number with a high neck and sleeves – very on trend as we head for winter!

If you want to emulate JLaw’s look with your own gown, we have plenty of options to inject a bit of sparkle.

Check out this gorgeous glittering gown, perfect to catch the eye as you walk up the aisle – then catch the light on the dancefloor!

As for JLaw’s wedding, we do know that she and her now-husband Cooke Maroney’s celebrations started at about 6pm, as dark was setting in, and that multiple wedding guests turned up dressed head-to-toe in black – smart and fashion-forward, but in keeping with the Halloween vibes.

If you’re looking for subtle, classy ways to give your wedding (and your wedding photos) a theme or distinct feel, there are so many ways you can do this…

Feeling Halloweeny, but want to keep things classy?  Guests wearing black to a wedding is quite unusual, and has actually traditionally been a sign you’re wishing bad luck on the bride and groom!  But wearing darker colours to weddings, ewspecially in autumn and winter, is not just getting more socially acceptable – it’s become a style trend in its own right.

Throwback to when Kim Kardashain married Kris Humphries way back in 2011.  Their nuptuals hit the headlines for a whole load of reasons… but one of the most striking things about Kim’s style choices was her chic monochrome dress code.  Her entire bridal wore white, and guests were asked to keep their own outfits colour-free as well – which obviously meant a lot of black!  While (as far as we can tell) the same dress code wasn’t imposed at her wedding to Kanye West, Kim’s overall tastes obviously hadn’t changed much, and there was a strong monochrome vibe.

When it’s endorsed by one of the most prominent fashion icons of the 20th century, you know your style choice is on point – and a bit of black for Halloween is not just fine but can be seriously classy!

But if you, like a lot of brides, aren’t down with guests wearing black at your wedding, there are more subtle ways you can ask your friends and family to bring in a theme.

For example, why not ask them in the invitation to wear autumnal colours on the day?

It’ll give your wedding photos a gorgeous seasonal vibe, without going dark and colour-free for a hard and fast Halloween look.

We’ve also been checking out some lighter and brighter options for injecting a little seasonal gorgeousness into your wedding.

Why not add a cocktail of autumn leaves and berries to your bouquet rather sticking to traditional floral displays?

And decorate your venue with a gorgeous woodland vibe in mind for an ethereal boho touch.

You could depart even further from the Halloween vibe and monochrome, and bring blush or champagne into your own bridal style.

Our coloured gowns look incredible with the autumnal colour palate, and offer something a little different too!

Pumpkins as wedding decorations are bang on trend this season, especially with a few creative touches!

We personally love the rose gold trend which has really hit its peak over the last few years…  If you’re feeling crafty, rose gold spray paint is a cute DIY idea to trim up your homemade wedding decorations.

You can easily match this to some of our beautiful rose gold bridal accessories, beautiful all year round but perfect for this time of year.

To see our full accessories collection, drop by or book an appointment and chat to one of our bridal advisors – we have everything from veils and hairpieces to jewellery and bridal belts.
