Let’s hear it for the dads

Thank you so much for sharing your Father of the Bride pictures and stories with us this Father’s Day! We know that if your father walks you down the aisle, it’s a moment you both treasure forever… Especially if, as one of our brides fondly told us, he offers to sell you for a tenner at the alter. When we asked for Father of the Bride stories, several of our brides recalled pep talks to get them down the aisle… “He was saying ‘Come on girl, deep breath, get a grip!’  Just what I’d expect from my dad!” But for some brides, we know these memories are tied up with other emotions too. “My dad had been ill for a while, but he still threw himself into walking me down the aisle,” said one Elite bride. Others told us how it was a chance to make lasting memories with loved ones who are sadly no longer here, or that their dads supported them through some pretty rough times to make sure they got to enjoy their wedding day. One thing’s for sure – so many brides couldn’t wait to share stories of their wonderful dads and stepdads, and we’re so glad these men are in your lives. “My dad is simply the best,” said one bride.  “Through everything I’ve ever done in my life, he’s never judged – just stood by me and supported me.  I love him.” As always, we enjoyed reading every single anecdote about your weddings and your wonderful dads, and seeing more of your beautiful photos. Thanks for attending our first Elite Bridal Show!

What a week…  We held our very first Elite Bridal Show, launched our latest collection, and enjoyed a few bubbles along the way! In case you missed it, we’ve been in Hull this week launching our brand new exclusive collection and celebrating the first Elite Bridal Show. Brides and their tribes were the very first to see brand new styles for 2019/20 in person, during a catwalk at Hull venue Barrow Boys – a beautiful and quirky backdrop opening onto the marina. It was a fabulous opportunity for guests to learn more about Elite Bridal and other local wedding suppliers while enjoying a cocktail or three, and we loved welcoming hen parties, birthday girls and glamorous entourages. If you’ve seen anything you like in the collection, either in person or through our social media, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!  These styles are currently exclusive to our Hull boutique, so please make enquiries by emailing infohull@elite.gb.net or giving them a call on 01484 671300. One thing we loved about the event was giving more brides-to-be the chance to chat to our designers in person.  We’re really proud that all our collections are designed right here in Yorkshire, which means our designers can often work directly with Elite Brides to achieve their perfect look. As these gowns are absolutely brand new, this launch was also a great opportunity to see what you, our gorgeous Elite Brides, think – and what you’d want to see in our future collections. Design your dream wedding dress

It’s by far our biggest competition yet…  We’re offering you the chance to design your own dream wedding dress! If you win, not only will you have the chance to work with our designers on creating your own bespoke gown – it’ll also be yours completely free of charge! To be in with a chance of winning, the requirements are simple – it’s all about spreading the word. On Instagram, you need to be following our account and tag one or more friends on our competition post – preferably another lovely bride-to-be! On Facebook, we’ll need you to like and share our competition post.  Make sure your privacy settings allow us to see that you’ve shared the post, or we won’t be able to select you as our winner. The reason we’re able to offer this opportunity to our brides is that all our collections are created by our incredible design team right here in Yorkshire, and our designers and seamstresses already work closely with Elite Brides to help them achieve their dream look. But this is a truly unique and special opportunity, as you’ll get to help us build your own gown from scratch. We’ll chat through all your ideas and how they will physically work within a garment, let you look at different materials and silhouettes, and whatever dream you have in your head will be transferred onto paper… then to mannequin… then to you! Your bridal gown will also be yours completely free of charge, aside from any later alterations or accessory additions. Boho beauty

Check our latest stunning photo shoot with our brand new collection, including some real boho beauties! Holly-Ann Wilson, Retail Director for Elite Bridal, was eager to show off more of the gorgeous new gowns we launched at our first Elite Bridal Show in Hull last month. She organised a uniquely boho shoot at Greenhead Park in Huddersfield, close to our flagship boutique.  The shoot really celebrates our new styles, which are tied together by an etherially bohemian vibe – a gorgeous, fresh look for a modern, on-trend bride. Stunning local model Hattie stepped up for the beautiful boho shoot, and professional makeup artist Sara Aspinall completed the crew. The dress below is actually an exquisitely embellished slim A-line gown, topped off with a jawdropping detachable princess train – it’s never been easier to get two bridal looks for the price of one!  It’s brand new this season and now available in all our boutiques, in Hull, Castleford and Huddersfield.
